5 Tips On How To Keep Your Pets Safe On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a unique event that brings people together with their families and friends, but it can also present certain risks for your pet. Holiday treats should be kept away from pets, especially if their owners will be travelling. To keep your pets safe and healthy over the holiday, follow these tips.
1. Keep Food Out Of Reach
Keep the feast on the table, not under it. Many foods that are healthy for humans but dangerous to pets include onions, raisins, and grapes. Fatty foods are difficult for animals to digest. Make or purchase a treat just for your pet if you want to share a Thanksgiving treat with them.
2. Supervise Your Pet At All Times
To ensure that your dog or cat doesn't get into any risky situations during the Thanksgiving celebrations, it is best to keep a close eye on them. If your pet has been trained to stay in a crate, keeping them inside while you prepare and consume the meal is one approach to keep them secure and away from the food.
3. Hide Any Trash
Your family pet could be killed by a turkey carcass that is left out on the carving table or in a garbage can that can be readily accessed. Throw away turkey carcasses and bones, as well as any packaging or threads used to wrap or tie the meat, in a closed garbage can outside that is covered and securely fastened (or behind a closed, locked door).
4. Be Careful With Decorations
